Persou
Persou is an immersive experience that reimagines the ancient Greek myth of Persefoni’s journey to the underworld and the rebirth of Spring. Persou touched on themes of life, death, rejuvenation, and humanity’s desire to alter the natural world. This production featured a cast, music, food and set pieces from Cyprus, Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Produced at Nancy Manocherian’s the cell theater as one of the first indoor performances in New York City to host a live audience after the Covid lockdown; Persou was featured in the New York Times alongside Simon Stephens’ Blindness and Moises Kaufman’s Seven Deadly Sins.
